Desolation X

IT’S BEEN QUITE A WHILE SINCE I LAST WROTE here but I am going to change that soon and start being more frequent here again so I am not gone for good. In the meantime I wanted to shoe some images of a place me an my brother found when we were out driving saturday morning the weekend we were at Gefle Metal Festival and we had nothing to do but to take a look at the surrounding nature. When I saw this desolated house where no one lives in and where the grass stans high all over I immidiately thought of my Desolation X project; it’s perfect for this.

Not much to say really. I don’t even remember what that little hole we lived in was called but obviously near outside Gävle. So go ahead and enjoy these photos. They are run through heavy filtering using Snapseed as you all probably can see.

See ya’ll soon. Enjoy the sombre colors of the beautiful autumn that lays upon us now. Sweden is a wondrous place this time of year I think.

Upload Your Photos To The Desolation X-project!

Upload Your Photos To Support Desolation X-project (Sticky Post)

As you all have seen I post photographies under the name Desolation X. You can’t have missed it! And if you like the photos or the idea of this project – Please, feel free to upload your own photos to support the Project. I would love to have your photos sent to me! Maybe they are taken in another country, maybe just outside your door, in the woods, on the fields, hills and valleys or lakes or whatever, just as long as it has this feeling of melancholy in it. Some kind of depressive weight to it. Maybe you don’t see it the way I do, so just post the photos you believe will be suitable and I will publish what I like, but probably all. Just think of that no persons shall be on it. Otherwise, a dysphoric environment could be in the cities or in the country or in a house or a barn or wherever, really. You set the standard by what you upload.

Desolation X – Natures Expression of Depression

A Hidden Oak Grove And Its Powers

Yes, it might get a little much just now but it is quite nice with a photo here and there. Well, it is to fill out the void that appears when I’m a bit busy doing other things than posting. So every time a Desolation X pops up you know it is my bad conscience that is making me do it. The photo below was taken on a very dark spring day this year. And the sky was heavy and looked as if it were made of iron almost. There was a special kind of atmosphere surrounding this oak grove that lay hidden from the road. Behind a bit of ordinary birch wood, a massive open green space appeared with a bunch of old oaks, some alive, some dead.

Special Desolation X – 2 in 1

Rånäs – My Neighborhood

Somewhere in Rånäs during the winter, actually, even if it doesn’t look like that, like many of the winters we have down here, but often we do get a lot of snow in the Roslagen area. I recall winters of 2010 and 2011 when we had about 1m and that is just so wonderful.

A New Desolation X For You Guys

I AM THROWING IN AN OLD PICE I FOUND on my computer that I like and that is worthy of being described as desolation. It’s when I was out photographing a couple of years ago and I went and took a pic of the camera stand and I think this looks really empty in a way. You miss the person that owns the stand, kind of. Even if I know it’s me it gives the kind of effect that I am after in my Desolation X-project. Feel free to comment on my pictures. All critique is welcome; good as well as bad. I need to develop in my way of thinking so your thoughts are more than welcome.

Evil Nature (Photos of Mountainwalls)

Hey! There is this function in one of my camera apps for Android that I have that mirrors the image from the middle and to the right vertically and that gives a cool effect when you photograph, for instance, mountainwalls, which I had for a pleasure a while after finding out about this app feature. The results are almost everytime some kind of a demonic face or form! It sounds weird and it is in a way but that is what it shows to be. And you must admit it looks pretty cool, don’t you think? Have a look at the photos I’ve gathered below to find out for yourself.

Click on the little bastards!

I will fix some kind of “like” system that works so that you can like images and posts soon.

Another Desolation X-post

This is what I see in wintertimes when I go outside. I have to cross this road in order to get anywhere – to my walks, to the woods, to the village, whatever. A very depressive little village it is. But it is pleasant in summertimes…

100m from my door. Instant Depression!
